The Burgundy story

Burgundy is a dark red associated with the Burgundy wine of the same name, which in turn is named after the Burgundy region of France which in turn is named after the ancient Burgundians, a Germanic tribe. The color burgundy is similar to other shades of dark red such as maroon, cordovan, and oxblood, but differs from each of these in subtle ways.

Yes, i LOVE this color so much so that i actually searched Wikipedia for the history of Burgundy.

I know I have been MIA from my blog for quite a while now but that is because I was planning for a huge comeback with this story. This story is all about a color, YES. This color has turned into a mania for me since whatever I look for these days IS in Burgundy- pants, jackets, sweaters e.t.c.

I have styled 3  very distinct looks in this color which is probably going to be helping you out in your daily lives.

The first look is an Indo-western look – This is not exactly burgundy but has hints of burgundy. I got this outfit tailored from my Mom’s silk saree, since she was never gonna wear it again and I wanted a silk crop top and long skirt combo, i had this wonderful idea of turning my mom’s silk saree into an indo-western outfit for myself.

With this unconventional Indian ensemble, i have paired a head accessory that i ordered from You can find similar ones using this link –

And as far as this outfit is concerned, i saw very similar ones on in the range of INR 2000 to INR 2500. And if not this, Faballey – has got some really unusual and new stuff for this season. You can use this link

A Burgundy on burgundy formal look is the way to go when it comes to new age office wear. I wanted to suit up in an all burgundy suit but unfortunately, i do not own a burgundy blazer. So whoever owns it can also pair it with burgundy pants and look dapper.

Instead, i wore a burgundy top over my new burgundy pants and paired it with a black blazer. Beige Ankle strap heels just add to the formal ensemble. I also adorned a small golden neckpiece and a yellow briefcase bag to complete my second look.

Top and pants and neckpiece-

Bag – Bangkok

Lipstick – Lakme 9 to 5

I wanted my last look to be a casual leather look for a day out with friends and family . OR maybe you can call it a biker chick look . SO i paired my favourite leather jacket from ZARA with my leather shorts and combat boots. Instead of wearing plain and simple stockings , i wore my kisses stockings.Underneath my jacket , i wore my new burgundy cropped sweatshirt .

Leather jacket – Zara

Shorts – GK M block market

Combat boots –

Sweatshirt – Bombay street market

I hope this post help you create new winter looks

and i hope you like it as much as i liked shooting and writing it .

Until next time – xoxo !
